Tron Legacy – The Revenge of the Nerds

Yes, I am guilty! Yes, I am a Tron Legacy fan and yes I am a nerd too, but I’m not alone. There is so much Tron stuff out there, it’s simply unbelievable. Some are real great fan-based artworks and some are hilarious  or just stupid merchandise. I’ve been surfing thru the Interweb and I’ve collected a lot of Tron inspired stuff. DW Design – The Art of Kilian Eng

Another of my favorite graphic desiger reached the Designers Olymp and I’m really proud to present a small part of his Portfolio. DW Design is Kilian Eng. A 28 year old freelance artist from Stockholm Sweden. 2010 he graduated from the master program for graphic design & illustration at Konstfack, University of Arts Craft & Design in Stockholm. His main commercial work during the past three years has been commissions for the international music scene designing record covers, logotypes posters and other kinds of promotional visuals.

Clients include bands like Miami Horror, Tesla Boy, Parallels, Joystixx, Lazer Sword and many more. DW Design was born when Kilian made a couple of illustrations for the own band DW (original name Darkwoods) wich members are Amir Zaino and Kilian himself. When the visuals were presented on their myspace page other musicians and record labels soon started to get in touch asking about the illustrations, wondering if it was possible to have something done for them. It became clear that there was an interest in the work and from that it went on to be DW Design, separated from the band DW.

The Music video is made for the Remix of Raised By Wolves. The original song is by the Canadian group The Cansecos and this remix is made by Parallels also from Canada. Animation and Directing is done by Kilian Eng of DW Design.

Much of the known work under DW Design could be called Science Fiction with a surrealistic approach but for Kilian that is not something that he feels his stuck with all the time, If you look at the online portfolios you can se that there is many different things going on, like horror stories taking place in baroque gardens and secret places behind the facades of Stocholm. There is also a big interest in creating longer visual stories and animations. A 11 minute long animated short film called Marchmounts is in production at the moment, release date for that is however not set yet.

iamamiwhoami Innovator of the year!

iamamiwhoami is an electronic music and multimedia project headlined by Swedish singer-songwriter Jonna Lee. Videos released from the project’s YouTube channel have spread virally. The first clip was uploaded on December 4, 2009, and was forwarded to a number of music journalists and blogs. Another two short videos followed. Chris Cantalini and MTV writer James Montgomery reported about iamamiwhoami, fueling speculation online.

The project currently consists of three series of music videos and a feature length concert video. The number series, highly stylized teaser videos, set the tone of the project, established several mysteries, and served to foreshadow the projects’ complete songs. The letter series is the equivalent of a studio album containing fully realized singles. (Released on iTunes and Amazon.com, each single also bears the phrase “To Whom It May Concern.” Several official remixes of the letter songs have also been released.) The letter series serves as the core of the project, and were reiterated as setpieces in the concert. The final set of videos, the date series (their titles correspond to the date on which they were released), set up the webcast concert on November 16, 2010 and had fans elect one of their own to attend the concert. On November 16 at 12:15 CET “In Concert” was webcast; it was removed approximately 4 hours later.

On 4 December 2010, the one-year anniversary of the posting of the first iamamiwhoami video, mp3s of “In Concert” were uploaded to Amazon, Spotify and iTunes. iamamiwhoami is notable not only for its artistic multimedia output, but also the creators’ leveraging of social technology (YouTube) and phenomena (viral videos, crowdsourcing) to disseminate their music and music videos.

iamamiwhoami – 101116 Concert – to whom it may concern
At 12am on the 16/11/2010 the mesmerising enigma iamamiwhoami published a video on the website: http://www.towhomitmayconcern.cc/ It was up for approximately 3 hours before disappearing; this is the live show that was published. Long cuts and stunning visuals which connect previous visual hints alongside fantastic reinterpretations of the songs already posted makes this a very interesting and incredible piece of artwork. Special thank you to the ripper(s), no copyright infringement intended whatsoever, intellectual property belongs to the respected artists. This is dedicated to all iamamiwhoami fans that missed the spectacle.

EXIT Festiaval 2010, Novi Sad – Serbia

EXIT Festival 8 – 11 July 2010, Novi Sad, Serbia – Petrovaradin Fortress
The EXIT Festival is only describable with some superlatives! HUGE! BEAUTIFUL! INSANE!

If I say EXIT is the best Festival in the world, so is this the absolut truth!!! The location is a beautiful old fortress on a hill, direct beside the Danube river. Four days of perfect weather, thousands of peaceful people, over twenty stages and last but not least, a huge and real amazing LineUp! I am very grateful to be a small part of this Megaevent! Special Thanks goes to the whole ELEKTRANA Crew, who invites me to play a Skitzo Disko DJ Set at the Elektrana Stage! Love and respect to the whole organisation crew!!!
