Skitzo Disko Vol.10 Release Party

Freunde der Blasmusik, man glaubt es kaum. Skitzo Disko geht in die zehnte Runde und das so richtig, mit allem drum und dran. Meine Freunde von We Are Salzburg haben es mir ermöglicht im Rahmen Ihrer Tanz Kaputt Partyreihe, die Release Party für Skitzo Disko Vol.10 auf die Beine zu stellen. Geboten wird so einiges. Neben der Premiere von Volume 10, wird es einen Best of Skitzo Disko Mix geben. Im Klartext bedeutet das, Ihr könnt den Abend zum Teil mitbestimmen. Und da soll noch einer sagen, es gäbe keinen Service am Kunden mehr!

Ihr könnt hier nochmal in aller Ruhe, die ganzen Skitzo Disko Mixe durchstöbern und für Eure Lieblingstracks voten. Aus den besten 20 bis 30 Tracks werde ich einen neuen Mix basteln. Ich bin selber schon gespannt was dabei rauskommen wird. Abwechslungsreich wird er auf jeden Fall, da sich auch meine Mixe im laufe der Zeit stilistisch weiter entwickelt haben. Alle Votings bis Ende November werden berücksichtigt.

Tatkräftige Unterstützung bekomme ich von den DJs für eine bessere Welt und OH LO! Ich denke da ist für alle Skitzo Dancer was dabei. Musikalisch könnt Ihr euch auf vieles einstellen, aber mit Sicherheit wird es nie in Belanglosigkeit abdriften. Als kleines Dankeschön wird es an der Kassa A2 Poster und eine weitere Überaschung geben, gratis natürlich aber nur solange der Vorrat reicht! Rechtzeitig kommen ist daher sicher von Vorteil!

STUCK! FESTIVAL 2011 – Salzburg, Austria

Festival City Salzburg – hmm, sounds a bit strange but it’s true! Stuck!, the indoor Club Festival convinced again with a superb lineup on three days at the Rockhouse Salzburg. It’s almost a must, not only for Indy-Disco-Kids! The spectrum is really wide and interesting for all kinds of intelligent Indy, Pop, Club, Avantgarde and Alternative Musiclovers. Some of the brilliant headliners are: Metronomy (UK), Block Party DJ Set (UK), Handsome Furs (CAN), Apparat Band (GER) or WhoMadeWho (DK). More bands to be announced soon! A Fistful of DJs from the “Yeah!Club DJ Team” and “DJs für eine bessere Welt“ makes the pot full. The “DJs for a better World” are full of pleasant anticipation and bringing us a Mix with most of the Bands from the lineup! It’s very tasty, you’ll find the DL-link at the bottom of this post.

The Future of Party – Poster Design

I have made this poster for the awesome crew from We are Salzburg. The design is based on the poster for the Chicago World’s Fair – A Century of Progress Expo from 1933. The original flyer and homepage design for the party was made by Sebastian König and Arne Müseler. Their design was mainly based on the bookcover “The World of the Future – Future Cities” by Kenneth Gatland & David Jefferis, published 1979.  If you like this style, don’t miss my upcoming post  Retro Futurism about Klaus Bürgle, Erik Theodor Lässig, Kurt Röschl and a lot of other amazing  retro-futuristic Illustrators!

This is the second “We are Salzburg Party” at the Denkmal in Salzburg City and I’m pretty sure this will be real fun, with lot of bass, laserbeams and next level shit direct from our hard drives! Das französische Trio Minitel Rose ist ein richtiges Electro-Disco-Monster und nach der Liveshow werden sie auch noch ein DJ Set nachlegen. Das junge Salzburger Band-Projekt deadnote.danse! ist komplett neu und DJs gibt es natürlich auch.

MINITEL ROSE

Auf ihrem ersten (Mini-)Album vor zwei Jahren, “The French Machine”, klangen Minitel Rose noch wie eine knarzende C64-Version der Klaxons. Für ihr zweites Album mieteten sie sich ein Haus am Strand, blickten wochenlang aufs Meer und suchten dort Inspiration für Melodien. Und fanden sie: Mit „Atlantique“ präsentiert das französische Electro-Trio 80s-Synthiepop mit Disco-Feeling. Melodische und treibende Tracks, mit denen das Valerie Künstlerkollektiv dem Sound von Ed Banger echte Konkurrenz macht. Ihr Sound ist äußerst tanzbar, treibend, stampfend, groovy und clever, ein zeitgemäßes Elektrobeat-Klanggewebe für die Rollschuhdisco. Der Einsatz von Keyboards und Synths, Falsett-Stimmen, Pop- und Electro-Elemente sowie der typisch französische, wunderbare Touch sind die Sterne im akustischen Universum von Minitel Rose. Live gibt es Raphael, Romain und Quentin an diesem Abend übrigens nicht nur als Band – auch ihr elektrisierendes Electro/New Wave DJ-Set wird begeistern. “A bright glimmer if real promise here” (NME)

SOFT.NERD

Nach jahrelanger Bühnenerfahrung mit anderen Projekten entstand 2009 die Münchner Band und spielt seitdem analog elektronischen Club-Disco-Pop. Alle drei Musiker sind waschechte Nerds mit Plattensammlungen bis an die Decke. Beeinflusst u.a. von Hot Chip, Friendly Fires, Daft Punk und LCD Soundsystem. Ihre Live-Qualitäten stellten sie z.B. als Support für The Big Pink furios unter Beweis. Ein wahrer Geheimtipp.

DEADNOTE.DANSE!

Triphopige Elektro-Beats die zum Tanzen anregen, bilden die Unterlage für schräge Synths, sphärisch-drahtige Gitarrensounds und eingängige Vocals. Das frisch gebackene Trio wagt sich an ein völlig neues Projekt – deadnote.danse!

The EXIT Festival is only describable with some superlatives! HUGE! BEAUTIFUL! INSANE!

If I say EXIT is the best Festival in the world, so is this the absolut truth!!! The location is a beautiful old fortress on a hill, direct beside the Danube river. Four days of perfect weather, thousands of peaceful people, over twenty stages and last but not least, a huge and real amazing LineUp! I am very grateful to be a small part of this Megaevent! Special Thanks goes to the whole ELEKTRANA Crew, who invites me to play a Skitzo Disko DJ Set at the Elektrana Stage! Love and respect to the whole organisation crew!!!
