Metatroniks Midi Fighter Pro Extended Mapping 1.0

Hey Midi Fighters, let’s fight! I’ve got a little gift for all Controllerists and Midi Fighter Pro users out there. You can download and test my Extended Mapping for the Midi Fighter Pro (Cue Master Edition). This is still a Beta Version, because I will try to make the Mapping even more handy and stable. The downloadable zip file includes the Original DJTT Mapping for the Cue Master (.tsi), my Extended Mapping (.tsi) and a Special PDF Manual. It’s made for Traktor Pro 2.1.2 and I use it in combination with the Traktor Kontrol S2.

The PDF includes besides a chart of my Mapping the first complete description of the DJTT Cue Master Mapping, with all Supercombos and functions. I hope I have found all hidden funtions and combos. The last page of the pdf is a blank scheme of the Cue Master, so you can easily print it out and label it for your own needs. Feel free to test the Mapping to the bone and tell me your suggestions to make it better. Anyway, tell me what you think and send me feedback to this Email address.

Finally a few words to my Extended Mapping. You can easyily switch between the original and my Mapping if you press the first two FX Preset buttons. The first preset is the untouched DJTT Mapping, so you can use the full power of both Mappings. The first two rows on top are mapped to play a One Shot Sample of both Sample Decks. Both knobs on the left upper corner are mapped to the Sample Deck Filter and to the Sample Deck Volume and Gain. So you can adjust all One Shot Samples on the fly.
The first three buttons in the third row are mapped to three different Gater modes. The Gator effect I’ve used is of course a bit different to the Gator effects in the DJTT Mapping. The fourth button in the third row is a “Dirty Echo Out” effect. Very useful for build ups and transitions. With the three “Slicer Fun” buttons in the fourth row can you create some nice glitchy breaks and effects. The last button is very powerfull, it’s a quick “Turntable Stop”. I have really missed this effect in the original Mapping, so I have build it by my own. The Dirty Echo Out effect and the Slicer Fun buttons are modified but based on the tutorials by Mr. Bedroom DJ.

Konea Ra – Pray For Sun – Debut Album

Shame on me! It’s a real pitty that I’ve dicovered this amazing austrian band not earlier. Zamagna (vocals) and Mangara (producer) are Konea Ra and they have released their first album Pray For Sun. I am such overwhelmed because the music is so beautiful, pure, deep and goes straigt to the heart. This is the next level of pop music, especially for ausrtrian circumstances. The whole concept of the band is perfectly designed and harmonious. The album artwork, the videos and even the clothes and the makeup for their live performances. Check out the videos at the bottom and see for yourself.
Konea Ra make you feel, despite every heart-ache (and world-ache), that everything is alright. Via Radio or Live, they spread endorphins and happiness, as already proved with their EP “Little Warrior“ in July 2011. “Ping Pong“ is the second teaser from their debut album “Pray For Sun“ was released on March 2nd, 2012, on Vienna Wildstyle Recordings. The Remix EP “Ping Pong” feature remixes by Ken Hayakawa, Weisz/Schrenk, Dada Inc, Dirty Delgado and Tomoroh Hidari.

Konea Ra combine sensuality, melancholy, and desire to build an emotional bonfire, a beacon. With their debut ‘Little Warrior’on Vienna Wildstyle, Konea Ra lead us on a journey which highlights the bizarre world of inner conflicts wherein the themes are love, lust, and conformity. Issues which we know all too well but must sometimes repress in order to function. Even though words like ‘sensuality’ and ‘emotion’ have been abused by Pop Charlatans for years, Konea Ra is not afraid to add epic melodies to their meanings and make the words truly accessible.

A balance between reality and fantasy, a revolt against simplification, a lack of emotion and the pressure of what has been prescribed—that is what Konea Ra is. Artists Zamagna and Mangara present their new music project: a combination of deep soul singing and unexpected beats result in independent, urban, and opulent electro-pop. Add to that an aesthetic that balances between the mystical and a very real social-critical viewpoint and you have a truly original new sound, never before heard on the Austrian music production horizon.

Well, all my Skitzo Disko Mixes and my Live Sets were made with Traktor Pro and a Reloop Controller. Now it’s time for a new toy. The Traktor Kontrol S2 from Native Instruments is coming soon with mail and I can’t wait to play around with some cool Pro2 mappings. For example the new one from Priscilla! She made also two great videos for NI, so you can see how great the new Controller works. Big ups to Priscilla for the well done review!

The Glitch Mob live in Berlin (22. Oct. 2011)

HELL YEAH! I am a really lucky bastard. I saw The Glitch Mob live in Berlin at the new club Gretchen. It was loud, it was bold, it was brutal, simply amazing. All my expectations were absolutely fulfilled. Josh “Ooah”, Justin “Boreta” and Ed “edIT” played full of joy and energy from the first beat to the last.
The only thing I’ve missed were the new light-elements from the US-Tour. Anyway, the show was great, so I have a couples of videos for you. The first two clips are filmed by my dear friend Katinca from Berlin, which I have to thank for her great hospitality! There are some more videos of the show, I have found on YouTube and as bonus a really good filmed video from the show in Paris.

Cory Enemy & Dillon Francis – Ultra EP Review

LA based monster producer Dillon Francis released his long awaited collab with Cory Enemy, better yet this absolute steal of an EP is being given out for free! Enemy and Francis, being long time mates took the time out of their summer tours to bring out this belter that will stay with you long after you stopped hearing its dulcet tones. “Ultra” was going to be released on Francis’s label but with a lot of samples that couldn’t be cleared it was just released for free lads!
Cory Enemy & Dillon Francis – Ultra EP by DILLONFRANCIS
The EP starts off with the title track, which has some slow progressive synths matched with some cute backing vocals… Until it breaks in with a street fighter reference, moving to the heavy mid section, perfectly balanced with some harmonics and chilling synths. With all that going on you’d think it’d be too much, but ‘Ultra’ balances it all perfectly. A perfect start and exactly what would be expected from the two producers.
Moving onto the second track ‘Who the fuck are you’, these two make unique sounds that seem to mix dance style harmonics with a hefty dub influence. A minute in and it’s already far less hectic, more something to chill out to at a house party, or that’s how it seems. Until it all breaks in with a cheeky vocal drop “Who the fuck are you”. The slower bass lines match seamlessly with the high and pure electronic notes. Picking you back up and throwing in the flawless mix of styles. The track seems simple, but deep, mixing in euphoric chimes to leave you with a feeling of purity, until we move into the finale.
‘’I love you’’ Picking it back up again with some stunning vocals and an edited Beyoncé sample start to enhance the atmosphere, before a huge vocal drop. Winding back up to the mid section, full of samples sounding like a dying Nintendo that you can hear throughout. The second drop mixes deep bass with an overly sweet but chilling “I love you”, before breaking into the drop. The swing changes the entire feel of the song, and it seems like this is a track that is constantly evolving as you listen to it. Whilst the sweet electronica influence screams at you right the way through, making every drop have much more impact. What a beast of an ending, but I would of been disappointed with any less.
If you haven’t downloaded this already stop reading, go to soundcloud and do it….RIGHT NOW!…DO IT!…CLICK IT! CLICK IT WITH YOUR FINGERS AND THEN LISTEN WITH YOUR EARS. Right, done it? Good. This absolute belter of a collab not only shows why Dillon is at the top of his game at the minute and keeps on climbing, but also that he is still able to work with and help promote one of his biggest influences in the genre. They mix genres and themes and break the concept of just hefty bass to sell a track. It’s no doubt that you will hear this when you’re out, hopefully through a stack that will actually do it justice.
